Normally vendors don't set up until 7:30 a.m. because that's when the business, who allows us use of the back lot, opens. Then the market opens at 8 a.m. Anyway, the Co-op was open early this morning and there were 2 or 3 vendors there when we arrived at 7:10 a.m. I had planned on stopping by the grocery store to buy some balloons to tie to our new parking and exit signs, but decided not to.

Most of our regulars were there with their produce, animals, and products to sell. If you weren't there, you missed jellies, lettuce, asparagus, green onions, honey, plants, chicks, geese, rabbits, baked goods, goat milk soaps.....and new at the market this year....banana trees! We had a new craft vendor who was selling chicks, too.

Parking went better, but still could be improved on. The market purchased two parking signs, one for entering the parking area and another to exit. I've decided to type up a newsletter of sorts to hand out to the customers to explain the parking situation and hopefully that will hellp.

Opening Day!

Coming soon....The Bollinger County Farmers Market's opening day is next Saturday, April 10, 2010 at 8 a.m. until noon behind the Bollinger County Co-op on Hwy 34 East in Marble Hill, MO. type='text'>Another month to go!

The Bollinger County Farmers' Market has a month more to go before this year's season is over. The weather has been rather iffy the last few weeks and vendor and customer attendance is down a bit. The weatherman says it will be dry this weekend, so hopefully that will be in the Market's favor.

I won't be at the Market for Sept. 6, Oct. 3, and Oct. 17. I'm committed to some other events in the area. But I will be there Oct. 10, 24, and 31.

Remember the Market hours are 8 a.m to just before 12 noon, behind the Co-op in Marble Hill, MO.
<div back tomorrow! Seems like forever. I want to thank the 2 ladies who took care of things while I was gone. I was told things have been quiet at the market due to the cold and the rain we've had lately, and the 100 Mile Yard Sale last weekend. The weatherman says tomorrow will be nice day; and I'm looking forward to attending the farmers' market again.

My plans for the blog are for the vendors to email me each week, if they can fit it into their schedules, to let me know if they'll be at the market and what items they'll have for sale. Then I can print up some business cards with the blog's web address to hand out to our customers where they can go on-line and see what to expect at the market each week. Or what they might have missed! <grin>

As always, the market is open 8 a.m. to 12 noon, behind the Co-op in Marble Hill, MO, on Hwy. 34.

<img width='1' height='1' Farmers' Market in Marble Hill, MO. This year's market started with a bang on April 11, 2009. The second week of the market was as busy, though the rain did slow things down for a short time. Hours for the market are 8 a.m. to 12 noon every Saturday, now through the end of October. Location is behind the Bollinger County Co-op in Marble Hill, MO. Items for sale at this time are bedding plants, herbs, jellies, baked goods, goat milk soaps, crafts, poultry, rabbits, and small farm animals. It won't be too much longer before vendors have some early produce. I'll try to keep you up-to-date on what's available as the market season continues. Check back often to see what's available.
