2010 Market Season is Open!

Today was the opening day for the Bollinger County Farmers' Market. Normally vendors don't set up until 7:30 a.m. because that's when the business, who allows us use of the back lot, opens. Then the market opens at 8 a.m. Anyway, the Co-op was open early this morning and there were 2 or 3 vendors there when we arrived at 7:10 a.m. I had planned on stopping by the grocery store to buy some balloons to tie to our new parking and exit signs, but decided not to.

Most of our regulars were there with their produce, animals, and products to sell. If you weren't there, you missed jellies, lettuce, asparagus, green onions, honey, plants, chicks, geese, rabbits, baked goods, goat milk soaps.....and new at the market this year....banana trees! We had a new craft vendor who was selling chicks, too.

Parking went better, but still could be improved on. The market purchased two parking signs, one for entering the parking area and another to exit. I've decided to type up a newsletter of sorts to hand out to the customers to explain the parking situation and hopefully that will hellp.
