Market Over Until Next Spring

The Bollinger County Farmers' Market is over until next April

Another month to go!

The Bollinger County Farmers' Market has a month more to go before this year's season is over.  The weather has been rather iffy the last few weeks and vendor and customer attendance is down a bit.  The weatherman says it will be dry this weekend, so hopefully that will be in the Market's favor.

I won't be at the Market for Sept. 6, Oct. 3, and Oct. 17.  I'm committed to some other events in the area.  But I will be there Oct. 10, 24, and 31.

Remember the Market hours are 8 a.m to just before 12 noon, behind the Co-op in Marble Hill, MO.

National Farmers' Market Week

This week is National Farmers' Market Week.  If you've never been, get out this week and stop by your local farmers' markets.  You'll meet lots of nice folks with fresh garden produce, tasty baked goods, jams, jellies, and many other items.

The Bollinger County Farmer's Market had a busy market day this past Saturday.  Lots of squashes and cucumbers.  Tomatoes are finally ripening and sweet corn has been ready for a couple weeks.  We had 3 new vendors and more of our regular vendors were there.  Even had to have hubby and daughter direct customer parking to help the traffic flow.

See you next week!

July is Almost Over!

July is almost over and school will be starting in 2 weeks!  We've finally had one of our tomato vendors at the market this  past week.  Tomatoes seem to be ripening slowly this year, probably due to our cooler than usual temperatures.   We may have a couple new vendors at the market this week.  Both have vegetables and cut flowers; and one has baked goods, the other has plants.   Hopefully the forecasted rain for Saturday will hold off until after market hours.  See everyone Saturday!

Saturday, Market Day

Not many vendors or customers this past Saturday at the Bollinger County Farmers' Market.  It was a hot and humid day, so I told the vendors if they wanted or needed to leave early to go ahead.  Even though I left early, I was the last one to pack up.  Next Saturday, July 4th, the market will be closed.  Because it's a holiday and the Bollinger County Co-op is closed, the market is closed as well.

So look for the market again on Saturday, July 11th.  Hopefully tomatoes will be ready by then.  I know one vendor said they would have blackberries.

I'm Back!

After being away from the market for 5 weeks, I'll be back tomorrow!  Seems like forever.  I want to thank the 2 ladies who took care of things while I was gone.  I was told things have been quiet at the market due to the cold and the rain we've had lately, and the 100 Mile Yard Sale last weekend.  The weatherman says tomorrow will be nice day; and I'm looking forward to attending the farmers' market again.

My plans for the blog are for the vendors to email me each week, if they can fit it into their schedules, to let me know if they'll be at the market and what items they'll have for sale.  Then I can print up some business cards with the blog's web address to hand out to our customers where they can go on-line and see what to expect at the market each week.  Or what they might have missed!

As always, the market is open 8 a.m. to 12 noon, behind the Co-op in Marble Hill, MO, on Hwy. 34.

Forgot to mention.....

I forgot to mention in the previous post that we have had lettuce, egg, and pecan vendors at the market.  I wasn't at the market this past Saturday, due to another obligation, but I was told the honey vendor made to the market this week.  Customers sure do enjoy his honey.  I know that my family and I like it.

Welcome to the Bollinger County Farmers Market

Welcome to the Bollinger County Farmers' Market in Marble Hill, MO.  This year's market started with a bang on April 11, 2009.  The second week of the market was as busy, though the rain did slow things down for a short time.  Hours for the market are 8 a.m. to 12 noon every Saturday, now through the end of October.  Location is behind the Bollinger County Co-op in Marble Hill, MO.  Items for sale at this time are bedding plants, herbs, jellies, baked goods, goat milk soaps, crafts, poultry, rabbits, and small farm animals. It won't be too much longer before vendors have some early produce.   I'll try to keep you up-to-date on what's available as the market season continues.  Check back often to see what's available.
